Niel pitches at Cooperstown

Niel was the starting pitcher in the Sluggers' game vs. a team from Minnesota on Monday, June 25. He gave up 1 run in 4 innings, and left the game with a 2 - 1 lead. We scored 2 runs in the first inning; Niel led off with a sharp single to left center and scored the 1st run on a sacrifice fly. However, after such a promising start, we could not score any more runs for the rest of the game! The game went into extra innings, and we lost 3 - 2 in the bottom of the 9th inning (games usually last 6 innings). It was a big disappointment to the boys as we've struggled to win games at the tournament. But, in the big picture, it's a great experiece for everyone, including the families, and we're having a great time!
