Volunteer Hosts PCMR

This year Scott and I are volunteer hosts at Park City Mountain Resort. We are on the mountain every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, for the entire ski season. I am a Safety Host and help set up the Slow Zone skiing signs in the morning before any skiers or snowboarders are on the mountain and take them down at the end of the day. I get to ski the rest of the time and radio the Ski Patrol if I come across injured, reckless or lost skiers/boarders. Scott is a Mountain Host and he spends the day helping out in the equipment rental shop or greeting guests on the plaza, answering questions at the ski maps located at the top of the lifts, and taking guests on Historic Park City Mountain tours. This has been a good way to meet new people and do some networking for Real Estate. As first year hosts, we get free season ski passes, 50% off at the mountain restaurant’s, and dependent season passes for $99.00. We also earn passes to the Canyons and Dear Valley. It’s been a fun experience and we get up skiing at least once a week.

East Metro Basketball 2008

Now that football is over...Niel is playing basketball on the East Metro Super League team. Also, Salt Lake Sluggers baseball practice has started and some of you will be receiving fundraising information in the mail. Sports and school keep Niel very busy and out of trouble. It is fun to watch him enjoying competing and working hard at school to get good grades. He has even been able to get in a little snowboarding and enjoys grinding the rails. Thanks to everyone who support Niel in all of his activities.

New Years Eve 2007

Kirstyn had a few of her friends over to help ring in the new year. The rest of us spent a not so quiet evening at home. Niel had a good time entertaining everyone with fireworks on our front lawn at midnight. However, I'm not so sure that the neighbors enjoyed it as much as we did.
